"Evolution"

Being large in stature has caused, throughout my life, persons to formulate opinions about me without any interaction with me.

The fact that I am a "Big Black Man" leads to additional assumptions that are the furthest thing from the truth.

On top of all that, add to the mix that I am an athlete -an athlete from the South-and you have those that automatically think they know the nature of my character, the disposition they are going to encounter, and the level of interpersonal communication skills that I possess.

I AIN'T that BIG BLACK BUCK that so many have read about, nor the one that so many were taught to fear as they were growing up.

Yes, I am forthright-outspoken even.

"Evolution"
is a brief walk-through history, as many of my pieces are, that seeks to illuminate the various misperceptions that are purposely and oftentimes ignorantly fomented regarding the BLACK MAN.

Why, may you ask?

My answer...  we need additional willing voices that may be the impetus for that one someone to become the influential voice that may become the rudder to this rudderless relationship between people of color and MANY within the white community. 

I feel that without it, the fear that continues to be perpetuated and promulgated anew by those that genuinely refuse to accept Blacks as actually human will continue to run unabated throughout the land.

Some may say or think that that my beliefs are far adrift and do not represent what is occurring in the year 2022.

To them, I simply say...LOOK AROUND. This failure to accept that every voice of naivete and indifference only provides expansive fertile ground for those who seek to perpetuate hatred.
