When Wondering What to Tell Them
Water cannons in LA. Eerily reminiscent of the hoses and dogs loosed upon those protesting for Civil Rights in Birmingham.
Make no mistake. there is an obvious attempt to create a circumstance that will dictate evoking Posse Comitatus, so that its subsequent usage will not be questioned throughout the nation. The mere thought of American Military troops being used to suppress lawful protests-and make no mistake that if they are used in the current situation-they will be used again, should send chills down the spine of EVERY American, irrespective of one's ethnicity.
Additionally, if the current circumstances do no move those who are affected to willingly stand in solidarity with their neighbors, then this democratic republic will find itself moving precariously closer to the brink of total collapse.
Make the correlation between what is occurring now and what we have endured.

Re-posting this piece from last week. Prayerfully, we all will use this as an impetus and a starting point for the beginning of much needed conversation.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
I am one of those who no longer possesses the capacity of reaching for the phone and hearing my beautiful mother's voice on the other end. She now rests in the arms of the Lord. However, there are those of you who still can cherish those precious moments.
PLEASE CHERISH THEM.
On this day, just as I stated during my intro, I usually share a piece to celebrate my mom that is entitled "Not By My Might". For those who look forward to it, especially my family, it can still be found on my website.
Instead, on this day, I chose to share a piece entitled
"When Wondering What to Tell Them"
essentially addresses the subject matter that was shared with us regarding our culture and heritage through the stories and teachings that were conveyed by our moms, pops, grandparents, and others who played an integral part in our upbringing.
Sadly, my generation dropped the baton as it relates to conveying those stories to our children and the youth with whom we interacted during their formative years.
My mom would be extremely excited that I am seeking to illuminate our failures by calling upon ALL who will listen to not allow another generation to be uneducated to the rich history of our culture and the struggles that we had to endure. Oftentimes at the hands of those who intentionally sought to inflict as much pain and hardship upon us that they could.
We cannot become victims of the "IT IS WHAT IT IS" attitudes that are becoming more and more prevalent within our communities.
WE ARE NOT QUITTERS and we SHALL NOT willingly acquiesce to a culture that seeks to erase our tremendous achievements.
WE CAN PREVENT the further erosion of our history by actively seeking to educate as many, children, youths, young adults- anyone who is willing to listen to those things concerning our true and rich history.
This is my way of attempting to do my part!
WE MUST call upon the spirits that have been imbued unto us through our ancestors and walk in the everlasting knowledge that ...
OUR SPIRIT...LIVES!!!
PEACE!!!
